The mountains of North Carolina or my loftier pick would be Nicaragua, my home country.

Projects you loved most in 2023
Hope Media Group’s prayer app, alongside engineer Alex Anderson “It was such a joy to work with him. It was my first time. The learning in general was really amazing. That was the one moment that really pushed me as a software engineer. He told me he just threw me out in the ocean, and said, ‘See if you can do this.’ I was able to figure it out and I was proud of that. He really helped me through some things to get us to the deadline. And on top of that, the client themselves was really great to work with.”

Your Personal peak/high of the year
Solving problems I’ve never seen is always satisfying. There were several tickets (this year) that I had no idea (how to immediately solve), but I ended up finding a solution. I was proud of that. I had the, ‘Hey, I did it!’ moment. People weren’t holding my hand. It’s things like that, it’s such a joy to be an engineer, to be solving problems.

Advice you'd give January 2023 version of yourself
Keep going, I feel that I’m doing the right things. I look back and I feel like I’m on track; I’m asking the right questions. Just be curious and contribute as much as you can. I look back and I realize I made so much improvement.
