Sean Ely
Content & Marketing Manager
Sean is a Chicago-based content creator who has worked with Echobind on video and social media projects since 2018, before being brought on as a full-time hire this year. He loves vlogging his travels—with a heavy focus on the culinary world—and even helped create two delicious hot sauces. He lives downtown with his wife Aly and dog Lionel and can often be seen flying his drone over the Chicago River or filming a ridiculous cooking video in his kitchen. “I love having a little side hustle brand where I can create videos wherever I go in my life, with an audience that's along for the ride,” he said. “It keeps me creative and looking at the world differently, always looking to capture it in a cinematic way.”
Least Favorite Emoji

 (It screams passive aggressive, even when it's sincere, hahaha.)
Favorite Holiday Movie

Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris. Yeah, I said it. It's a Christmas movie. And just the perfect blend of stupid and festive.
Who would dress up like Santa in Echobind?

I don't know why but I feel like Zack would make a terrific Santa.
Most Used App?

YouTube. My screen time is embarrassingly high because I use the YouTube app as a third monitor while working.
Food that doesn't get enough credit

The Salvadoran “pupusa” needs its time in the sun globally. It's like you combined a quesadilla, grilled cheese and bosco stick into its own food. Pure bliss.
Where would you like the next Echobind Retreat to be?
Grand Teton National Park. No better way to get to know your work friends than on some stunning hikes.

Projects you loved most in 2023
At Echobind, he's ecstatic to showcase the staff's endless talents leading up to the new year. Prior to joining the team, Sean traveled to Naples, Italy to film dozens of food show episodes as well as San Salvador, El Salvador to help produce the Miss Universe show with people from around the globe.

Your Personal peak/high of the year
Getting married near Glacier National Park in Montana with 60 of his closest friends and family in attendance! Oh, and landing a job at Echobind wasn't too bad either.

Advice you'd give January 2023 version of yourself
Grab a laptop and work in random locations more often. The constant change of surroundings is like taking a "creativity pill every day."

Favorite work-from-home perk or accessory:
My Shure SM7B microphone. Ever since I got this thing, it's like every Zoom call is my own hit podcast on Spotify. I love clean audio so much.
Watch the full interview
Sean interviewed everyone, so he said no one needs more of his face. So, naturally...
